HOME STAGING – WHAT IS IT?

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Home staging is the act of preparing a private residence prior to going up for sale in the real estate marketplace. The goal of staging focuses on improving a property to make it appeal to the largest number of buyers by transforming it into a welcoming, and attractive product for sale. This is done by depersonalizing, decluttering, cleaning, improving condition items, and landscaping. For vacant homes, furniture is used to create a living space the buyer could "see" themselves in.

As an Owner/Seller it is very difficult to be objective about ones home.  The average person does not put their home on the market everyday, and the way you live in your home is not always the best way to show your house to potential buyers. The Home Staging Expert has that objective eye. The HSE will make it easier by highlighting the positive features of your home, while downplaying the negatives.

Staging your home before you put it on the market will ensure you are
showing buyers a quality product from the start!
Home Staging showcases the house in its best possible light.

My sister once said to me, “I tend to buy things based purely on the visual presentation",  which got me thinking, this is exactly how most of us make a purchase whether it be fashion, cars and especially true when purchasing a home.  Empty rooms are just that, empty rooms! By staging a room you are encouraging the prospective Buyer to visualize the potential of the room, and seeing it as their own.
